“The Bubble Room is an absolute must-visit on Captiva Island! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is so fun, colorful, and unique — you can’t help but look around and take it all in. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the whole experience was just such a great time. It’s the kind of restaurant that feels like an experience rather than just a meal. If you’re visiting Captiva, definitely put The Bubble Room on your list!”

“We had dinner here as a birthday celebration and we loved it. The Bubble Bread they have is absolutely fantastic and my daughter loved it. The food was really good too — a large salad which was filling and delicious, a portobello mushroom dish and the Pasta Blanca. For dessert they brought us a cake for my birthday and sang a wonderful song. They also absorbed the price of the cake. That was really nice and a very sweet thing to do. We really loved our waitress and loved the atmosphere of this place overall. Honestly at the end of our trip, we were thinking we should just move to Captiva Island!”

“This is probably the busiest restaurant on Captiva Island, but it is for a good reason: It is very good! The atmosphere inside and out is fun and unique. The staff is very friendly despite being very busy. They bring you Bubble Bread and cinnamon rolls with every meal that are very good on their own. The seafood dishes we had were way above average, and the desserts are the biggest I’ve ever seen.”

“This is a very fun and charming place. Get there early as the seating can fill up quickly. Constance our Bubble Scout did amazing considering she was new. Food was exceptional. Be sure to save room for dessert at the end. It is definitely the cherry on top of this experience.”

“A must see in Captiva! The Bubble Room is an experience in of itself. The food is to die for and the atmosphere is killer! Such cool history and so much to look at. 3 floors of antiques!”

“The dessert is why you came there! BEST CAKE IN THE STATE! No seriously, legit could come here and just have cake for dinner. Orange crunch cake is a must but the tropical island cake is delicious as well and was our family’s fav overall. It’s a fun south Florida pastel vibe with great desserts. Be sure to time it up with a drive back to catch the sunset on Captiva after!”

“We are a gang of 5 who decided to storm the Bubble Room on Captiva Island, Florida. Incredibly eclectic place with all kinds of memorabilia on every possible surface. Definitely worth a visit. I had French onion soup that was divine and we also ordered the Calypso salad. Beautiful presentation. Great smiley service. We took dessert to go!”

“Incredibly kitschy, Instagram photo worthy restaurant with history and a great menu. I must admit I’m a bubble light fan, and to see a whole restaurant dedicated to the idea and theme of Christmas is just wonderful. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was unlike anything I’ve experienced.”

Our Famous Desserts
From our famous Orange Crunch Cake to our Red Velvet & Beyond…
Every cake at The Bubble Room is baked fresh daily on Captiva Island and cut into slices so massive they barely fit on the plate. The Orange Crunch Cake is the one that put this place on the map, layered with almond brown sugar crunch and orange cream cheese icing that people genuinely lose their minds over. The Red Velvet and Very Moist Chocolate Cake have their own devoted followings, and picking just one from the tableside tray is the toughest call you will make all vacation. Grab a slice next door at Boop’s Ice Cream Parlor, or ship one home through Goldbelly and relive the magic from your couch.
The Bubble Room was featured on Food Network’s “Craziest Restaurants in America” (Episode: “Weird, Weirder, Weirdest”), hosted by Chef Graham Elliot. Ranked #4 on the episode’s countdown for its Boy Scout-uniformed servers, three floors of vintage holiday decor, and famously oversized cakes.
